All the leaders are Irish, and are made leaders through association not because of their relationship, or even none relationship with God.
Pastor Roy tells his congregation, before sending out the Tithing baskets, that it costs money to look after the men and women in their homes, however when you go into the home they put an application for supporting housing costs of £255.00 per person per week, plus they take between £90-£120 or each person every two weeks depending on which ammount of benefits the person is on, when they recieve there benefits, and most of the food eaten is from the food donations which is collected from supermarkets several times each day. (The pastors, their families and leaders also live off these donation) So before Tithing they earn a profit just from the mens supported housing benfit claims alone, because they spend very little on feeding the guys and before they recieved food donations I heard stories of the men being fed on scraps every day. You are also manipulated into giving the rest of your benefits up for the leaders birthdays and wedding anniversary gifts.
There are a cicrle of Irish guys in leadership who take the money off the guys for themselve and use scripture to manipulate the vulnerable men in the homes, because they have been going into V.O. homes for that long that they learnt scripture enough to know how to use them to their advantage. The two main ones being Davey Crystal & one called Alan.
If you don't submit to their authority then you are said to have a demon in you trying to cause trouble to V.O. and you need to be removed.
I saw one guy who was mentally ill and who questioned how the home was being run as he thought it was unfair. (And I have to agree it was unfair & against human rights of a person) being thrown out of the home and his bags litterally being thrown on the floor deliberately by the house leader (Irish Alan) Irish Alan would often brag about his bullying escapades from before he was in V.O. and would talk of intimidating people still in the present day whilst out and about in public. This is certainly not the behaviour of a mature Christian and not something to brag about as a Christian.
Davey Crystal would always stick with new guys who where on the top rate sick pay and get them to donate money which he would pocket. He was also always on dating sites and going on dates, but new guys were put on discipline for even talking to a women.
I found out off another one of their associates, a Mick Whelan that the three of them, Mick, Davey and Alan had been going to a massage palour together.
If you were Irish you basically could do as you pleased and when the pastors brother came into the home, Terry, he was made a leader very quickly and was allowed to talk to any women he wanted.
You are also made to fast if you are in the homes, which to me was a way of saving money. I say this because the leaders would claim to be fasting, but we actually caught some of them in a restaurant when we went for a walk on a day that we were all supossed to be fasting. And one of the pastors, pastor Bob is so over weight and addicted to food that it is ridiculous to even imagine him ever fasting. And brother Alan (Irish Alan) who is in charge of all the homes would even brag to the men in the home about how he gained weight when he was fasting. This is an example of how stupid the leaders think the guys under them in the homes are.
Also this guy Davey Crystal became a leader weeks after smoking crack and heroin and he was still taking it whilst he was a leader. This was basically allowed just because he was in the Irish click. He brought a woman to church in Liverpool one Sunday, who he had just met online, but guys who weren't in their click but had been clean and living true Godly lives for much longer than Davey had where told that they were not even ready to have visits with their own children.
I do not believe that if the congregation really knew exactly what went on in the homes and how the guys in the homes where being treated that they would be so happy to be a part of the church or to tithe their money there.
Also Irish Alan who was often praised for his leadership which I found crazy as he basically constantly bragged about himself and would talk bad of anyone who he saw as a threat to his believed superiority, and regularly told very un-Christian stories to the lads about his past, clearly still trying to glamourise badness. Alan would personally tell the guys underneath him that he didn't care what they got up too, so long as they didn't get caught and make him then look bad. I personally witnessed him putting in orders for stolen goods with theives that he had got to know in the area.
Another Irish guy already mentioned, who the leaders would lift up because he was in the Irish click was a guy called Mick Whelan. He was also made staff/leader after a short amount of time being there because he had been there before and knew the click from Irland. Even though he clearly wasn't there for the programme or for God & would brag about the drugs he was using whilst in an American and a Dutch home prior to coming to Liverpool, and about the women who he had just been sleeping with, including some poor guys wife. I found this very un Christian and crazy because he would then preach about other guys in the home being perverts when talking to the leaders, but in reality, from the stories that I heard Mick talking about, he was the biggest pervert out of every guy I met in the time I spent in the home. Mick also bragged to the lads how he had been in V.O. for years so knew exactly what things to say to the pastors to be fast tracked to get into the re-entry home. Even though he had never completed the home before, just like Pastor Roys brother Terry, he was treated as if he had completed the programme before and fast tracked.
Basically the place was corrupt as hell.
There were a few Irish guys in the home who weren't in the Irish click who also stated how it was corrupt and how it was one rule for one and one for another. And one Irish guy said, when he was fed up with the corruption and left the place, said to me before he left how it was just the same as the Irish home but without the fund raising.
For those who don't know, the Irish home was shut down because of corruption from the top which included illegal fund raising, with the money being kept by the corrupt staff and pastors.

Fyi....sonny called a emergency meeting last week demanding all pastors and mens home leaders fly same day to California. They returned and have changed policy on using EBT cards immediately. My husband was in the mens home until a month ago....i think based on recent happenings they may finally be under investigations. Praise God...Were now attending a different church.

Let me say this..Every prophet God chose to go forward was well educated..The pastor in V.O. cant even read! He appointed himself to collect ferria! Talking about he dont want tens or twenties but hundreds in his collection! Talks smack about the people in the home every sermon! They dont use any money except to make more money! Selling water! They have one guy designated to taking van fulls of people to welfare office to collect taxpayers money! If you have a job, they make you sign over check to them! Then work them 50 hours a week! I have been suffering from (HERPES) disease for the last four years and had constant pain, especially in my knees. We are missionaries from South Africa having spent about 6 years in the VO church in Santa Ana, California before God moved us on back to our roots, which was the church God ordained my husband in, in the Anglican church, in SA. The VO was the place where God broke our hearts over many concerns and their rejection was really bad. Sadly, the 1st VO chose to deal with us by the "left foot of fellowship" after 2 years being faithful there, in 1997, to 1998. The sister church, VOSESA took us in for the next 4 years, before God moved us on. Currently, we are serving God in an Anglican church in N. California. We are grateful for our VO experience, having learnt from them how an end time ministry ought to be run, as well as how it should not be run. We were never in the VO homes, but gave them bible studies there and lived on campus and then stayed in a small rehab house. We are grateful to God for our VO experience. We still pray for the VO's to be delivered from all sin, hurts and the demonic. We've left them in Gd's hands. God alone knows how best to treat each one. I only refer people to the VO if they have a drug problem. All outsiders and the rest of the body of Christ are not really welcome there.

Unknown, my husband of 13 years is there in Ft. Worth right now. I kicked him out after finding him on drugs again... I've only spoken to him 3 times in 9 months. He told me he smuggled a letter out.
